Dengue on the rise: 22 fatalities so far in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Dengue Control Unit said that a special dengue eradication program will take place centering the G. C. E. O/L examination centers.

Dr. Lahiru Kodithuwakku from the National Dengue Control Unit said that guidelines for this purpose were released.

The National Dengue Control Unit said that 400 dengue patients are reported weekly from the Gampaha District.

Dr. Nimalka Pannilahetti told News 1st that over 100 dengue patients are reported weekly from the Kalutara District.

She said that so far this year, 22 people, including two children, had died of dengue.
