Search operation underway to locate 12-year-old child missing in Belihuloya.

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A search operation was launched to look for a 12-year-old boy who went missing after arriving from Ambagaspitiya to go for a swim in the Belihuloya.

A 13-year-old girl who had gone for a swim with the missing child last evening had drowned. The 12-year-old boy went missing following an attempt to rescue the 13-year-old girl.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old woman who went for a swim in the Vak Oya in Hanwella had drowned as well. Another woman who had gone for a swim with the victim is currently receiving treatment at the Avissawella Hospital.
