Six arrested after attempting to flee illegally by sea

COLOMBO (News 1st): Six people who attempted to flee to a foreign country illegally by sea have been arrested, during a special search operation carried out by the Navy in Mannar, Erukkulampiddy sea.

Four women are also among the group who attempted to travel to India illegally.

The police said that two boys aged 07 and 14 years were also among those arrested.

All those arrested are members of the same family.

They will be produced before the Mannar Magistrate Court today.
