COLOMBO (News 1st):  A suspect wanted in connection with an incident in which a man's hands were cut off, has been arrested in Koralawella area of ​​Moratuwa.

The suspect is a 36 year old and resident of Koralawella.

The suspect appeared before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court yesterday together with his lawyer, police said.

Later, court permitted the police to detain and interrogate the suspect for 48 hours from yesterday.

The shocking incident was reported in Koralawella Moratuwa on the 21st, where an electrician's hands were cut off with a sharp weapon and taken away.

Since then police have been on the lookout to nab the suspect.

An argument between two neighbouring households led to the attack, Police said. 

The injured victim, who is a 40 year old, was admitted to the Panadura Hospital.
