Colombo (News 1st) - At least 17 people were killed and 140 injured in an explosion in a 5-storey building in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Tuesday evening, Bangladeshi media reported. It was not immediately clear what caused the blast.
The injured included 30 who were in a bus that was passing the building and was hit by the blast in Gulistan, a suburb of the city. The explosion appeared to be on the 4th or 5th floors, and more than 150 firefighters worked throughout the night trying to find survivors and bodies amid the debris. The blast did not cause a fire.
