Colombo (News 1st) - Dr. Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon back in 1969, tied the knot for the fourth time on Friday (20th), to his longtime girlfriend Dr. Anca Faur, 30 years younger to him.

Aldrin tweeted Saturday: "On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers."

Dr. Kaur, 63, who has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, is the Executive Vice President of Buzz Aldrin Ventures.

Aldrin, who has been divorced three times, the last in 2012, has three children, one grandson, three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

Aldrin stepped onto the surface of the moon on July 21, 1969, a few minutes after Neil Armstrong. He is the only one of the 3-member crew of Apollo 11 who is still alive. Armstrong died in 2012 and the third crew member Michael Collins in 2021.

In all, 12 men walked on the moon up to the end of the Apollo programme in 1972. Only four of the 12 remain alive today. NASA plans to return to the moon in 2025.

Aldrin began his career in the United States Air Force and flew missions in the Korean War, reaching the rank of colonel.
