Colombo (News 1st) - The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in May will feature a concert with globally renowned entertainers, Buckingham Palace announced. The names of the entertainers have not yet been revealed, leading to much speculation, but the palace has promised 'some of the world's biggest entertainers'.

Charles will be crowned with St. Edward's Crown, the centerpiece of the crown Jewels. It was made in 1661 or the coronation of King Charles II, made of solid 22-carat gold weighing 2.23 kilograms and decorated with precious and semiprecious stones. It contains 12 rubies, 6 sapphires, 7 amethysts, 345 rose-cut aquamarines, 37 white topazes, 27 tourmalines, 2 jargoons, 1 spinel, and 1 carbuncle.

The concert will feature global music icons, several orchestras, and a coronation choir, the palace said. The coronation itself will be on May 6 with the concert the following day. Both the coronation and the concert will be broadcast live worldwide.

The coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey and the king will travel in procession to where he and Queen Consort Camilla will appear on the famed balcony with other family members.

A laser and drone light show will also liven up the proceedings even further. The concert will feature a diverse group of choirs and performers including amateur choirs, refugees, a choir from the National Health Service, LGBTQ+ groups, and deaf-signing choirs.

The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elisabeth last year featured Diana Ross and Rod Stewart.

It is not clear if Charles' younger son Prince Harry would attend, following his estrangement from the royal family and the publication of his book 'Spare' which made a multitude of accusations against the royal family.
