Senior cop arrested for possession of cannabis plants

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Senior Superintendent of Police for Moneragala was arrested on Monday (9) morning for the possession of a large number of cannabis plants.

He was arrested by the Police Special Task Force.

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that the SSP was in possession of 350 cannabis plants.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department will be conducting an inquiry, said the Police Spokesperson.
