Maldives President in Sri Lanka on a private visit

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday (29) arrived in Sri Lanka on a private visit. He had traveled to Sri Lanka aboard a normal flight from Male.

His visit comes a day after he said that the economy of the Maldives has successfully recovered to pre-pandemic levels this year. 

The Maldives' economy is forecast to grow by 12.3 per cent this year, while economic growth is expected to be at 7.6 per cent in 2023. 

His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is the 7th President of the Republic of Maldives, having been sworn into office on 17 November 2018 for a 5-year term.
