Egg producers says no to CAA's MRP

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Egg producers in Sri Lanka informed the Court of Appeal on Thursday (15) that they cannot agree with the price amendments produced by the Consumer Affairs Authority.

Counsel for the CAA told court that the Counsumer Affairs Council that convened on Wednesday (14) had decided to impose a Maximum Retail Price of Rs. 42/- for a white egg, and Rs. 44/- for a brown egg. This was after the court ordered for the CAA to decide on a Maximum Retail Price for eggs.

The case was taken up in the presence of justices Prasanna De Silva, and Khema Swarnadhipathi.
