Tea cultivators in crisis due to fertilizer shortage

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The shortage of fertilizer has severely affected tea-small holders in Sri Lanka.

The tea-small holders in Akuressa, Matara said that the authorities have not shown any interest to address the issue, as the lives of many workers depend on this industry.

They further say that they have to buy fertilizers at high prices and sell the leaves at low prices, leaving them at a loss.
