Power Cuts: 2 hrs and 20 minutes today (1)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka says that there will be daily outages during the festive season starting today (1).

The Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Ratnayake says the power crisis is ongoing due to issues in generating hydropower and purchasing coal.

He adds power cuts will have to be imposed until the issues are resolved.

However, PUCSL approved power cuts of 2 hours and 20 minutes on 1st & 2nd December as follows;
