Mattakkuliya Murder: Man stabbed to death in broad daylight

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death in Mattakkuliya on Monday (28) afternoon.

Sri Lanka Police said that the victim was traveling in a car, and when he got out, two men who tailed him in another car had carried out the brutal attack.

The victim died upon admission to the hospital.

The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Mohamed Badurdeen Mohamed Farhan, a resident from Sa'viya Lane, Mattakkuliya.

Sri Lanka Police said that man was arrested by the Ja-Ela Police on the 27th of April 2019 over the Easter Sunday Terror attacks, and was remanded.

He was later released from all charges.

Police said that he was killed while returning from court, after attending a legal matter.

Sri Lanka Police said an investigation is underway, and the suspects connected to the murder are yet to be identified,.
