COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Ministry of Health warns that there is a disease similar to influenza is spreading across the country.

Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath said that people should pay attention to this matter.

He further says that this disease is spread due to the current climate change and the lifestyle of the people, further, he says that the measures taken to be protected from COVID-19 are suitable to protect from this disease too.

Views were expressed on measures to be taken to protect yourself from the disease:

-Wear the face mask

-Avoid close contact

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick

-Stay home when you are sick

-Cover your mouth and nose if you are having symptoms

-Clean your hands

-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth

-Practice other good health habits
