Over 3,000 undocumented leprosy cases in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health says that there are nearly 4,000 leprosy patients in society who have not been reported to the health authorities.

The Director of the Leprosy Control Unit Dr Prasad Ranaweera said that there is a risk of leprosy spreading in society due to undocumented cases.

He said during the first 7 months of 2022, over 450 leprosy patients have been treated in this country.
