Four Independent (SLPP) MPs join opposition

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Four MPs who contested from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and decided to become independent have cross over to the opposition, and will become a faction of the Samagi Jana Sandanaya.

The move came after talks with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa at his office in the Parliament.

Accordingly, MPs Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Chandima Weerakkody, Jayaratne Hearth, and Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle crossed over.

This is the first parliament crossover ahead of the budget presentation scheduled for Monday (14) evening.
