'We made mistakes in must-win games' - Mahela

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Consultant Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mahela Jayawardena said that the team committed multiple mistakes in must-win games at the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

He said that the team performed well in all the games, however, when it came to the must-win games there were setbacks.

"It is impossible to win against well-performing teams while committing such mistakes, especially at a World Cup," he told reporters upon arriving in Sri Lanka on Monday (7).

After winning the Asia Cup 2022 the team was motivated and they did not take the T20 World Cup lightly, he added noting that the conditions in Australia were a major challenge for the team.
