COLOMBO (News 1st) - Lawyers of the Samagi Youth Balawegaya on Friday (21) visited the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption to inquire about the progress of the investigations into the Pandora Papers.

Attorney-at-Law Tharaka Nanayakkara of the Samagi Youth Balawegaya pointed out that no information with regard to the ongoing investigations have been released despite the former President ordering for the CIABOC to produce a report on the investigation in a month.

The SJB Lawyers said that the investigation should be prioritized more due to the involvement of Ex-Minister Nirupama Rajapakse.

Attorney-at-Law Lihini Fernando too speaking at the event said that it is the taxpayer funds which have been misused, and thereby it is the responsibility of State institutions to recover the funds back to Sri Lanka.

"The police and the CIABOC should be supervised to see whether corruption and fraud are rampant within them. No matter whoever does it, it is wrong," she added.
