Monkey weeps at the funeral of the man who fed him

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A story of a bond between a man and a monkey was reported from the Batticaloa District in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka on Wednesday (19).

According to local reports, a man had befriended a monkey in the rural village and this monkey had made daily visits to the residence for food and to play with his new human friend.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday (18) the local man passed away and when the monkey made his usual visit to the house to see his friend, he only came to find the family and friend of the man around a lifeless body prepared for burial.

Video captured at the funeral tells a story of a strong affectionate bond between man and animal, as the monkey was seen trying to call his friend to play, unaware that his friend was no more.
