COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Court of Appeal on Wednesday (12) set a date to issue the order with regard to the writ petition filed by former President Maithripala Sirisena requesting to annul the notice issued on him to appear at the Fort Magistrate's Court on 14th October where he is named as a suspect in the Easter Sunday Terror Attacks case.
Accordingly, the Court of Appeal will issue the relevant order at 9:30 in the morning on 14th October.
A bench comprising of Justices Sobitha Rajakaruna and Dhammika Ganepola issued the order after the petition was taken up in Court today.
Additional Solicitor General Rohantha Abeysuriya appeared on behalf of the Attorney General while President's Counsel Rienzi Arsecularatne represented the plaintiffs including Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando who filed the case at the Fort Magistrate's Court, and President's Counsel Faisz Musthapha appeared for the petitioner.
