Recover money looted from scam to boost revenue - Sajith

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa speaking in Parliament on Friday (7) said the economy cannot be revived by a small group of people confining themselves to small rooms.

He said the government must visit the people and understand their woes and the destruction that has been caused due to wrong economic decisions.

He proposed for the government implement an economic growth strategy. 

He said that the government must recover the money looted from the state via various scams, and use that money to boost tax revenue.

He proposed for the government to recover the looted funds via an anti-corruption program, and the UN's Stolen Asset Recovery Assistance program.
