Kabir Hashim appointed COPA Chairman

COLOMBO (News 1st) - SJB Parliamentarian Kabir Hashim was unanimously appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts on Wednesday (5).

The appointment was made when COPA met for the first time in Parliament.

COPA comprises 27 members of parliament.

The ruling faction had nominated 12 MPs to COPA and they are Mohan Priyadarshana De Silva, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, K. Kader Masthan, (Dr.) Suren Raghavan, Diana Gamage, S. B. Dissanayake, (Dr.) Sarath Weerasekera, Wimalaweera Dissanayake, (Dr.) Major Pradeep Undugoda, Isuru Dodangoda, Sahan Pradeep Withana, and D. Weerasingha.

15 MPs represent the Samagi Jana Balavegaya and the Independent MPs in the opposition.

They are Tissa Attanayake,  Kabir Hashim, Niroshan Perera, (Dr.) (Mrs.) Sudarshini Fernandopulle, J. C. Alawathuwala, Ashok Abeysinghe, Buddhika Pathirana, Jayantha Samaraweera, Hector Appuhamy, Hesha Withanage, Wasantha Yapa Bandara, Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam, Weerasumana Weerasinghe, (Prof.) Charitha Herath and (Dr.) Harini Amarasuriya.
