One of these provisions is the dissolution of parliament within two years of being elected.

However, MP Dilan Perera speaking to News 1st said that some of the articles that were approved by the Supreme Court are to be amended at the Committee State in Parliament, in a devious effort to increase the period of dissolving parliament to four and a half years.

MP Dilan Perera joined the News 1st Ilakkaya program revealed that at the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice on Tuesday (4), the Justice Minister had noted that SLPP MPs had made a request to increase the period of dissolving parliament to four and a half years.
