President in Philippines, meets Marcos Jr. for talks

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. at Malacanang Palace in Manila.

The President's Media Division said that both heads of states engaged in bilateral discussions.

President Wickremesinghe flew to the Philippines from Japan on Wednesday (28) after being awarded an audience with the Japanese Emperor, and a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister.

The Sri Lankan President is expected to attend the 55th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors.

Thereafter he is to meet with the President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asakawa.
