COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government said a circular will be issued on Monday (26) permitting public sector employees to report to work in a suitable attire.

Public Administration Secretary P. K. Mayadunne speaking to News 1st said that public sector employees will be allowed to wear any suitable attire in addition to what is recommended for public service.

The decision was made considering the rapid increase in prices of sarees, and other clothing worn by public sector employees.

He added that the circular on office attire for the public sector will be amended accordingly.
