COLOMBO (News 1st) – A hacker had recently illegally obtained leaked and unreleased footage from much-anticipated game Grand Theft Auto 6 from Rockstar Games, the studio said on Monday (19).
“We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and download confidential information from our systems, including early development footage from the next ‘Grand Theft Auto," the company acknowledged.
The hacker had reportedly posted the leaked footage on a forum, and the company, Rockstar Games later released a statement highlighting that it was 'extremely disappointed' about the incident.
"We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next games shared with you all in this way" Rockstar’s statement read. “Our work on the next ‘Grand Theft Auto’ game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.” the company added.
