COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police had opened fire at a three-wheeler that defied orders to stop in Tissamaharama on Thursday (8) night.

Sri Lanka Police said that the Special Motorcycle Division deployed to crack down on organized crime had ordered the three-wheeler to stop at around 9 PM, however, as it continued to move without stopping officers opened fire.

A 17-year-old boy who was in the three-wheeler was injured in the shoulder and was rushed to the Tissamaharama Hospital for treatment.

The man who drove the three-wheeler without stopping was arrested by Police.
