Rising Dengue risk: Over 2,700 premises identified

COLOMBO (News 1st); 2,773 premises in 06 districts have been identified as high risk mosquito breeding areas.

The National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry of Health stated that a special mosquito control program was previously implemented from 01st to 03rd of September in 55 health medical officer divisions in 06 high risk districts.

The National Dengue Control Unit said that 75,993 premises have been inspected so far, and 20,704 premises have been identified as mosquito-infested premises.

The Dengue Control Unit added  that it has been found that mosquito breeding remains relatively high in public places, schools, religious places and educational institutions.
