COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Provincial Councillor of JVP, Wasantha Samarasinghe, demanded for President Ranil Wickremesinghe to released the conditions stipulated in the IMF agreement.

Samarasinghe said that previously, while the preliminary discussions with the IMF were underway, President Wickremesinghe had questioned former CBSL Governor Ajit Nivaard Cabraal about the conditions. However, Samarasinghe added, today Wickremesinghe himself does not reveal them.

"We heard that the documents containing the conditions agreed to by the Government was signed. Why was this not tabled in parliament? Why are you not revealing this to the country? The world must know what the Sri Lankan government has agreed to," he demanded.

Samarasinghe added that when President Wickremesinghe was a lone MP at the Parliament, he himself used to question the agreement, and questioned as to why the President, as the Finance Minister, is not keen to release them now.
