COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the second generator at Norochcholai which currently remains inactive, will be added to the national grid from the first week of November.
The national power grid lost 270 megawatts of electricity capacity due to this generator failure.
Meanwhile, the first generator of Norochhale power plant, which was inactive, was recently re-connected to the national grid after repairs.
Therefore, the Ceylon Electricity Board said that there will be a revision of the daily power cuts, and a discussion on the relevant revision is due to be held on Monday (29).
Meanwhile, 03-hour electricity cuts will be imposed across the island on Sunday (28).
