'Haal Sameera' arrested by STF

COLOMBO (News 1st); A wanted criminal identified as W. K. Sameera Sampath Fernando also known as 'Haal Sameera' was arrested by the Police Special Task Force in Minuwangoda.

Sri Lanka Police said that 'Haal Sameera' was involved in amassing massive quantities of rice from producers and issuing false cheques.

The 36-year-old suspect from Negombo is linked to multiple financial scams and racketeering.

Two Italian-made revolvers, a Chinese-made Shot Gun, and various types of ammunition were discovered following a search of the suspect's house.

He was handed over to the Minuwangoda Police for further investigations.
