Sri Lanka approves national guidelines for Child Development

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers approved the national guidelines and minimum standards for child development centers in Sri Lanka.

Child development services under the Department of Probation and Child Care Services are implemented island-wide to ensure the protection, security, and physical and mental well-being of the children living within Sri Lanka and those who are orphans, abandoned, abused as well as encountering legal issues.

Although the guidelines and conventions prepared concerning the child development centers are already implemented at a provincial level, there are no recognized guidelines at a national level.
