COLOMBO (News 1st); The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) approved power cuts of 3-Hours from 16th -19th August as follows;

Groups ABCDEFGHIJKLPQRSTUVW:
1-Hour and 40-Minutes during daytime
1-Hour and 20-Minutes during the night

Group CC:
2-Hours and 30-Minutes from 6.00 AM to 8.30 AM

Groups MNOXYZ:
3-Hours from 5.30 AM to 8.30 AM

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said that the daily power outage had to be extended for 3-Hours due to the breakdown in Unit 1 of the Norochcholai Power Plant. 

"Technical staff is working to identify the fault. Unit 2 is undergoing scheduled maintenance work. Unit 3 will continue to operate," he tweeted.

The Minister said that West Coast & other Fuel Power Plants will be used to manage the supply.
