More buses deployed for passenger transports

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association said that nearly 90% - 100% of buses are in operation on Monday (15).

The Chairman of Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijeratna said that a sufficient number of buses will be used for the transportation of school children.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the National Transport Commission (NTC) Dr. Nilan Miranda said that a special bus service is in operation for the transportation of school children and teachers.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) said that 741 'Sisu Seriya' buses have been put into operation.

SLTB further said that starting from today, all the school buses will operate according to a proper timetable.

Sri Lanka Transport Board said that the buses needed to travel to schools will cover all areas without any restriction.
