Underworld Don 'Harak Kata' arrested in Dubai

Colombo (News 1st): Notorious Underworld Criminal Gang leader Naduna Chinthaka aka 'Harak Kata' was arrested in Dubai, confirmed Sri Lanka's  Public Security Ministry on Sunday (14).

The Ministry said that steps are being taken to secure the extradition of the wanted criminal. 

It added that many wanted criminals, especially drug traffickers and murder suspects, have fled the country to Dubai and India.

The Ministry of Public Security said that Dubai has somewhat become a safe haven for such criminals, as their associated provide them with a safe place to hide.

It added thar measures are being taken to secure the extradition of 12 other wanted Underworld Criminal Gangsters who are currently in hiding overseas.

An investigation had revealed that criminals are being flown out of the country to Dubai, after they commit a crime in Sri Lanka. 

Recently, a couple liked to a murder in Ratmalana, where a man was brutality shot dead, were arrested at the Katunayake Airport when attempting to flee to Dubai.
