Qingdao Seawin sets an ultimatum for Agri Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st); Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group Co., Ltd. the organic fertilizer manufacturer that was at the center of controversy in the recent past sent a letter to Sri Lanka's Ministry of Agriculture expecting a reply within 5 days.

Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group Co., Ltd. said that there is a major fertilizer gap in Sri Lanka for the Maha Season, and the country needs to import USD 300 Million worth of Fertilizer.

It adds that the Ministry of Agriculture has not made it clear if the project will be continued or discontinued, and thus the project had resulted in losses of USD 8 Million to Qingdao Seawin Biotech, and the losses are still expanding.

Qingdao Seawin Biotech has requested the Sri Lankan Ministry of Agriculture to specify if it intends to continue cooperation, or if it wishes to terminate the cooperation and how long it would take to implement such a plan.

Qingdao Seawin Biotech concludes that it reserves the right to take further action.
