COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Medical Institute (NTMI) says that the revised medical examination fees are effective from today (8).

Accordingly, from today the new medical examination fee for light vehicles is Rs.1500/-.

Except for the drug test, the new medical test fee for heavy vehicles has also been increased to Rs.1500/-.

The NTMI said that it has taken steps to revise the medical examination fees for issuing and renewing driving licenses due to the increase in the cost of materials and equipment currently used for medical examinations.
