Two arrested for obstructing Police duties

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspects have been arrested for obstructing the duty of Police officers in Gatambe, ​Kandy.

Police stated that the suspects were arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer while he was attempting to stop a drunk crowd from entering a festival.

The police officer who was injured in the incident has been admitted to Kandy Hospital for treatment.

The police said that a male and a female suspect have been arrested in this regard and they will be produced in court today (06).

The suspects have been identified as residents of Udaperadeniya and Polgolla, aged 30 and 46.
