SJB & President to discuss all-party Govt

COLOMBO (News 1st); A discussion is due to be held between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya to discuss the establishment of an all-party Government. 

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, the Chief Opposition whip Lakshman Kiriella , General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara and few others are to participate in the discussion which is due to be held at the Finance Ministry later today. 

Parliamentarian Ashok Abeysinghe speaking at a press briefing stated that as the main Opposition Party, the SJB is joining the discussion as per the invitation of the President.

Pointing out that the people of Sri Lanka should be made aware that the Opposition will contribute to bringing the country out of the crisis, the Parliamentarian said that the Government must present a plan and a way forward for an all party Government. 

MP Abeysinghe emphasized that the relevant interim Government must only remain for a period of 6 months to 1 year, adding that corrupt politicians must not permitted be in the Cabinet of this interim Government.
