Rambukkana shooting: SSP Keerthirathne granted bail

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Kegalle High Court on Friday (05) enlarged on bail former Kegalle Senior Superintendent of Police K.B. Keerthiratne and other police officers who opened fire at protesters in Rambukkana on the 19th of April.

This was after the bail applications of the suspects were taken into consideration at the Kegalle High Court today.

High Court Judge Janaki De Silva granted bail to the suspects subject to strict bail conditions.

The suspects have been banned from traveling abroad without prior approval, and were instructed to not to influence the witnesses of the investigation.

Chaminda Lakshan a resident of Rambukkana was shot dead during the shooting which occured on the 19th April.
