COLOMBO (News 1st); Attorney-at-Law Nuwan Bopage visited the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka to make submissions over a complaint filed by him against an assault on the 22nd of July opposite the President's Office in Colombo.

He urged the authorities to investigate the incidents that took place at GotaGoGama on 22nd July and to investigate who issued the order on the Sri Lanka Army to attack protestors.

Ranil Wickremesinghe is using the emergency law to suppress the people, he alleged in his comments to the media.

Therefore, he asked the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) to intervene in the use of the State of Emergency in the country and to stop the government from using it against the people.
