Two arrested for skipping queues and obstructing Police duties

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect has been arrested for obstructing the duties of Police and assaulting police officers at the Gonagama filling station in Kurunegala.

The Police mentioned that the person in question, who was intoxicated, went to obtain fuel for his motorcycle by skipping the queue, and the Police on duty had objected it.

At that time, the suspect had attacked the police officers with a sharp weapon taken from a nearby shop.

A Police officer has attacked the suspect as well.

The 40-year-old suspect, who had fled the scene, was laterarrested while undergoing treatment at the Wariyapola District Hospital.

Meanwhile, a person who tried to attack a police officer with a saw has been arrested at Piliyandala Madapata filling station.

Police stated that he had attempted to obtain fuel by skipping the queue on a motorcycle, on two different occasions.

Later, the suspect had tried to attack the police officers with a saw when he arrived on a lorry to the same filling station.

The Police arrested the 43-year old suspect afterwards.
