QR for Fuel pilot program today (21)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Power and Energy says that the distribution of fuel based on the last digital of the vehicle registration number commenced today (21).

The Ministry said that fuel will be issued today (21) only to vehicles which have the number 3, 4, and 5 as the last digital of the vehicle registration number.

The Chairman of the Filling Station Owners’ Association Kumara Rajapaksa said that the distribution of fuel from CEYPETCO filling stations will commence from today (21) and the distribution of diesel will be done without restrictions.

However, there will be further restrictions on the distribution of petrol.

Accordingly, the amount of fuel that will be issued is as follows:

• Motorcycles – Rs.1500/- worth of fuel
• Three-Wheeler – Rs.2000/- worth of fuel
• Cars, Van, Lorry, Buses – Rs.7000/- worth of fuel
