Fuel distribution from 21st July - Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st); A discussion was held on Tuesday (19) evening to plan to start fuel distribution from the 21st. As per the discussion fuel will be issued based on the last digit of the vehicle registration number;

• Number plates ending with 0,1,2 will be issued fuel on Tuesday & Saturday

• Number plates ending with 3,4,5 will be issued fuel on Thursday & Sunday

• Number plates ending with 6,7,8,9 will be issued fuel on Monday, Wednesday & Friday

  The Ministry of Power and Energy has decided to implement fuel supply according to the National Fuel Pass as a pilot project for 3 days from the 21st at selected filling stations in Colombo district and will implement it throughout the island from the 25th. In addition the Ministry together with the security forces, National Youth Corps, National Youth Services Council will support the Filling Station Employees, and the General Public in implementing the Fuel Pass program by providing technical expertise on operating the system. Also, if it is not possible to remove the vehicles currently in the parking lots, it was decided to remove them by providing fuel only according to the last digit of the number plate for the respective date. The amount of fuel that will be issued is as follows:

• Motorcycles - Rs.1500/- worth of fuel

• Three-Wheeler - Rs.2000/- worth of fuel

• Cars, Van, Lorry, Buses - Rs.7000/- worth of fuel
