Water Supply workers protest for fuel

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Water Supply & Drainage Board employees organized protests at several places on Thursday (7).

The Chairman of the Water Supply & Drainage Board Employees' Union Upali Rathnayake said that the protest was organized as the government was not introducing proper mechanisms to distribute fuel for their services.

In the meantime, there will be 24-hour water cut in effect for Colombo 12, 13, 14 & 15.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said that a low-pressure supply will be experienced in Colombo 1.

It added that repair works are in progress and the Water Board expects to restore supply by 6.00 am on Friday 08th July 2022..
