COLOMBO (News 1st); The Mahaweli Authority has planned to cultivate a thousand acres of Mung beans.

The Mahaweli Authority says that people who are cultivating one acre of Munge beans will be given Rs.18,000/- per person to purchase seeds.

The World Food and Agriculture Organization is preparing will provide aid to improve the agriculture industry.

Mung beans cost only 20 kg per acre of paddy, said the Mahaweli Authority.
