COLOMBO (News 1st); A decision has been made to deploy the Police Special Task Force to control unrest at filling stations.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security stated that those who act in a violent manner in the vicinity of filling stations will be arrested by the Police Special Task Force and brought before the law.
Meanwhile, the Government is focusing on providing 4,000 bicycles for police officers, with the aim of facilitating their duties with the ongoing fuel crisis.
The Ministry of Public Security mentioned that some investigations and field duties have been hampered by the fuel crisis, and this proposal has been presented with the aim of reducing the delays caused.
