COLOMBO (News 1st); A stock of gold worth over Rs. 47 million, which was illegally brought into Sri Lanka, has been taken into custody by customs personnel at the Katunayake airport.

Customs Media Spokesperson, Sudath Silva said that the suspect who brought this gold stock on a FlyDubai flight was also arrested by officials.

The suspect has been identified as a 35-year-old resident of Dematakoda area.

Customs Spokesperson said that 16 gold biscuits and four molten gold pieces weighing 2098g were found in his possession.
