COLOMBO (News 1st); A Cabinet Paper has been submitted for the appointment of a Food Security Committee.

The Cabinet Paper by the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security proposes to appoint an officer from state food production agencies to the committee.

The committee is expected to conduct a review on the stocks of food in the market, by meeting with the relevant heads of institutions.
