One dead, 5 injured in Meemure tragedy

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 19-year-old woman died and 5 others were injured when a a bus fell into a precipice in the Lulwatta area on the Hunnasgiriya - Meemure road.

The accident had taken place when the bus driver attempted to give way to another vehicle on the road, thereby causing for it to fall off the precipice.

Police stated that the injured were admitted to the Medamahanuwara Hospital.

Police stated that the group were identified as residents of the Wariyapola area in Kurunegala.

They were reportedly on a leisure excursion
